This week we learned about China. We discovered a lot about the Chinese people and their culture. I decided to write about the Terracotta Warriors. I learned that they were made about 2,200 years ago. It is said that Emperor Qin Shi Haung wanted the army to serve and protect him in the after - life. There were around 8,800 statues buried with him. Archaeologists estimate that it took 700,000 craftsmen to build all of the soldiers, chariots and horses. They guess that it took the craftsmen several years. The Warriors are all different in size, facial expressions and they all have different hair cuts out of respect for soldiers that have died. They are between 175 cm-190 cm tall. Archaeologists say that the Army was the biggest find of the 20th century.
